We can assist with temporary help when needed for deadlines, illnesses, special projects and to maintain work flow during vacation or peak times. Rates are established according to the skills required. Billing rates will normally be quoted at the time an order is placed. Temporary workers are our employees, remain on our payroll and we assume responsibility for payment of their salaries, payroll taxes and worker’s compensation. We bill you weekly for their time on an hourly basis. Temporary invoices are payable upon receipt.
Temporary to Hire
We can arrange a temp to hire situation wherein an employee would remain on Universal Staffing’s payroll as a temporary employee for a designated period of time and then they may be hired by your company. In this case, we would pay the employee an hourly rate and include a mark-up on your invoice to include our fee. The mark-up also includes worker’s compensation insurance, employer matching taxes and unemployment insurance. Once the employee has fulfilled the designated hours as a temporary employee, you can hire them with no additional fees.
You may wish to hire the applicant and place them directly on your payroll. You are then charged a percentage of the employee’s yearly salary according to a fee schedule available through our office. Our placement is backed by a guarantee.
You may have identified an applicant on your own but want to delay placing them directly onto your payroll or simply work them for a temporary period of time. Universal will employ them for you under our temp guidelines at a reduced rate until you are ready to hire.
Cost Reduction Programs
Universal Staffing provides a variety of programs to help cut personnel costs. These options are available through our Work Agreement which is custom tailored to your company’s needs. Please ask our staff about discounts to exclusive clients, discount for volume temporary staffing and discounts for volume regular staffing.
The need to cut staff is never a pleasant experience for either party. Universal offers services to the employee to guide them in resume writing, interviewing and marketing their skills to new prospective employers.
